Flora Pili was the opponent, Croke Park was the setting, and 82,000 fans packed into GAA HQ to give Katie the ending her career deserved.
In the weeks since, Taylor has been made a life-long ambassador of the WBC, has enjoyed some downtime with her husband, and has begun the promotional tour for her stage show, which will be taken all over Ireland next year.
After beating Pili, Taylor remarked that the past 20 years of her life had felt like one long training-camp.
With her time as a boxer at an end, she is looking forward to taking advantage of other opportunities coming her way - even if she isn't entirely sure what that will look like just yet.
"I think there are going to be so many opportunities for me," she told RTÉ Sport.

"In punditry maybe, in coaching maybe, I’m not going to step away from the sport completely.
"I love my sport, it’s been a huge part of my life since I was 10 years of age so I’m looking forward to getting involved in some way.
"I’m not sure what that looks at right now but I'm sure new dreams and new ideas will spring up, all in due time.
"Right now I’m just enjoying the season that I am in, enjoying living a life less intense. My whole life over the last 20 years has been focused on the next competition and the next fight, beating my body into submission every single week in the gym.
"So it is nice to have this time to reflect and enjoy life, just enjoy family life as well until these new dreams and new ideas spring up. When they do spring up, I’m going to give them my heart and soul."
As for the stage show, Taylor is looking forward to taking it around the country, giving fans a theatrical look at her life in boxing.
"This is something that my manager, Brian Peters, has been organising for the last few months," she said.
"I was obviously very focused on my fight in Croke Park, and since Croke Park, this play has been under development.
"This is a great way to share my story and to showcase my story in a theatrical way. I've just seen a few minutes preview of it yesterday and today, and I'm very, very moved by it. I think it's going to be very impactful.
"We're going to go around the country showing this as well. I'm actually very excited about this.
"I’m retired now, I have all the time in the world to do these things and it's very different to what I'm used to, but I'm very, very excited about it."
