BackSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will welcome back left-arm pacer T Natarajan, while Delhi Capitals (DC) have added leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari to their squad following a player trade between the two franchises.
Natarajan returns to SRH after representing the franchise for five seasons from 2020 to 2024. He established himself as one of the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) effective Indian left-arm seam bowlers during his stint with the team.
The pacer enjoyed his most successful IPL season in 2024, taking 19 wickets, the most by any SRH bowler that season, and playing a key role in the team's run to the final.
Natarajan was acquired by DC for Rs 10.75 crore at the TATA IPL 2025 Player Auction. He will now join SRH at a revised fee of Rs 5 crore.
Ansari, meanwhile, moves to DC after representing SRH in 10 matches during IPL 2025. The 26-year-old leg-spinner made an impressive start to his IPL career, taking three wickets on debut against DC.
He has claimed six wickets in 10 IPL appearances and is expected to add depth to Delhi's spin-bowling department. Ansari will join DC at his existing fee of Rs 40 lakh.
The IPL 2027 auction will be held in Goa in December, marking the event's return to India after three consecutive editions were hosted overseas, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia.
The auction was held in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the previous three years. Goa has been selected as the venue for the 2027 edition.
"This year, after hosting the IPL auction in three foreign locations, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi last year, we are going to host it in Goa in the month of December," BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said.
