Bengaluru weather forecast: Will rain play spoilsport in India vs West Indies T20I series decider?

Rain is highly likely to interrupt the deciding T20I of the five-match series between India and West Indies at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Here’s today's weather forecast for Bengaluru.

India and West Indies will face off in the fifth and deciding T20I of the series on Saturday to mark the end of a fiercely fought series that is currently locked at 2-2. The 200-run mark has been breached in all six innings of the last three matches, and Bengaluru is also expected to dish out a flat track.

West Indies have never won a T20I series in India, and Shai Hope's side have a great chance to create history. Meanwhile, India have also not lost a home T20I series since February 2019, winning all of their 11 T20I series at home since. But Bengaluru weather might have its own plans.

What is the Bengaluru weather forecast for IND vs WI 5th T20I?

According to AccuWeather, rain with thunderstorms is predicted at around 4pm and 5pm local time. Although more thunderstorms aren’t expected between 5pm and 10pm local time (the match starts at 7pm), there is still a 30-40 per cent chance of rain during this period. The probability of rain and thunderstorms rises sharply to 80 per cent at 10pm, which could affect the second innings.

BBC Weather has predicted rain in Bengaluru throughout the match. With a 60 to 70 per cent chance of rain between 6:30pm and 11:30pm local time, we could lose some overs if not all.

Weather.com has given a similar forecast, with 50 to 60 per cent chance of rain during the match. There is a high chance of showers in the lead up to the game, until around 5:30pm. But if it does stop, Chinnaswamy's exceptional drainage will facilitate some on-field action.
