The Bengaluru weather threatens to ruin the fifth and final T20I between India and West Indies. On the back of another Shai Hope hundred, West Indies levelled the series in Hyderabad to set up a decider, but whether there will be a full match on Saturday night remains to be seen.
According to BBC Weather, there is more than 60% chance of precipitation from 1:30pm through to 10:30pm local time. Thundery showers are forecast throughout the day, including during the match hours. Google also paints a similar picture, warning of a flash flood risk and stating “heavy rain is expected. Local conditions may vary, check official news for updates.”
AccuWeather predicts 6.8mm of rain will fall in the evening and night in Bengaluru. It’s hourly forecast shows thunderstorms at around 7pm, with cloudy conditions from 8-10pm. It will be interesting to see whether that eventuates.
If play does go ahead, expect more runs at one of the more batting-friendly venues. There have been 1,746 runs scored in the four T20Is to date as the bowlers have struggled to have any say.
