BackIndian wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the third T20I against New Zealand after suffering a low grade right adductor strain in the first match of the series, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Monday.
Kishan had missed the second match of the series due to the injury, and his place in the team was taken by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The board has stated that Kishan is ‘recovering well’ at the moment. In the release, BCCI further added, “He is yet to regain match fitness and is ruled out of the third T20I to be played on October 27, 2026 in Wellington. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring Ishan's progress.”
Kumar Kushagra, who had been drafted in as his replacement in the second T20I, will continue to keep his place in the side for the third match as well, set to be played at the Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Tuesday. India currently lead the five-match series 2-0.
