Sanju Samson is a kind of batter who has a lot of potential, but because of la ack of consistency, he often ends up attracting a lot of criticism. Since the emergence of Vaibhav Suryavanshi in international cricket, the keeper-batter's position in India's playing eleven has become uncertain.

By playing a match-defining 67 runs off 33 balls with eight 4s and four 6s, Sanju Samson secured India's 4-wicket win against New Zealand at the Hagley Oval, chasing 226 runs in the second innings.

Whenever the team management dropped Samson from the playing combination, former cricketers and cricket experts expressed their own views on Team India's decision. Additionally, netizens also shared their views across social media platforms.

Social media buzz is now a part of cricket, so whenever something significant happens on or off the ground, the social media platforms flood with various types of posts.

After today's match, when Sanju Samson, the Player of the Match, went to face the media personnel, the journalist asked him about his mindset amid the outside noise.

Samson, in his reply, mentioned that he was not aware of what the people on social media platforms said about him or the team, keeping his focus always on his own performance instead of paying focus on the noises.

Sanju Samson on dealing with outside noises

The opener and keeper-batter of the Indian cricket team stated that representing the Men in Blue is not easy and there was a lot of noise as well. So, for him, keeping himself in the process to get the best performance during the matches was the best thing for Samson.

"I don't even know what they are saying outside, what they are saying inside. To be very honest, you can't think about what social media is saying or what other people are saying. You just have to be in the process, be in a very different environment. I think playing for Indian cricket is not easy. There is a lot of noise happening," Sanju Samson said.

Proving someone wrong may not work for Sanju Samson

He further mentioned that playing cricket has always been his first preference rather than proving someone wrong. Samson vowed to respect the process and the practice to keep moving forward, keeping an eye on the future.

"A lot of people have their own comments. But to be very honest, I think we have to think and apply ourselves in that game. Trying to prove them wrong. I don't think I play this game in that kind of mindset. I just keep my cricket up front. I respect my process. I respect my practice. And then go out and do what's best possible, actually. So I like to keep it very small," Samson continued.

"I think if you are trying to prove them wrong, I don't work from that kind of a mindset," he added.

India will next face New Zealand on Saturday, October 24, in Christchurch.
