An Unforgettable Day at the Home of Cricket: England vs. New Zealand Test (June 2026)

I recently ticked a major bucket-list item off my travel list by attending the opening of the international summer at Lord’s Cricket Ground in June 2026. Watching England take on New Zealand at the absolute "Home of Cricket" is an experience that transcends sports—it is a masterclass in British tradition, summer vibes, and sporting drama. My trip kicked off on Day 1 (Thursday, June 4th), and the atmosphere was electric from the moment the gates opened. Experiencing the very first ball of the Test series in person was spectacular, and the match kept everyone on the edge of their seats before England ultimately wrapped up a thrilling 115-run victory later in the weekend. If you are planning a trip to London, catching a match here is an absolute must. Details & Tips Location - St. John's Wood, London (Zone 2) Getting There - 5-minute walk from St. John's Wood Tube Station (Jubilee Line) My Seat in Compton Stand (fantastic, unobstructed elevated views) Food Policy - You can bring your own picnic (and a limited amount of alcohol!) Key Highlights of the Experience Walking past the iconic Grade II-listed Pavilion and seeing the legendary Lord's Father Time weather-vane makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. The dress codes and deep-rooted traditions are highly respected here. We sat in the recently redeveloped Compton Stand. The unobstructed views of the pitch and the iconic sloped outfield were perfect. The crowd was incredibly passionate yet respectful, making it a very welcoming environment for international tourists. Excellent Facilities: For a venue with so much heritage, the modern amenities are impressive. Restrooms were kept exceptionally clean despite the crowd, and there was plenty of signage to find your way around. #Lords #Englandcricket
