Over the course of the last five and a half decades, bowlers from all these teams have produced some memorable spells in the fifty-over format. The record for the best men's ODI bowling figures is held by a Sri Lankan seamer, who took an eight-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in 2001.

The game has evolved rapidly in recent years, making it more and more batting-friendly but bowlers have still managed to leave their mark. In 2026 itself, three players have broken the record for the best ODI figures for their respective teams, all of them with a six-wicket haul.
