Allrounder Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, is all set to make a comeback in domestic cricket. Arjun is in Goa's squad for the Ranji Trophy plate league final against Nagaland.

The match will be played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima. Tendulkar was earlier dropped from Goa's squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, the left-arm seamer has found his way back into the squad for red-ball cricket.

Arjun Tendulkar in Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Plate League

Arjun Tendulkar has picked up 16 wickets in four matches he has played this Ranji Trophy season for Goa. All these matches were from the Plate League of the tournament. The left-arm quick averages 18.18 with the ball and is ninth on the list of highest wicket-takers of the plate league.

Goa qualified for the final by finishing on top of the plate league by winning all their five matches. Meanwhile, Nagaland finished second with 3 wins, 1 defeat, and 1 draw.

Besides picking up wickets, Tendulkar has scored 51 runs in three innings at an average of 17. The youngster initially played some games in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but was dropped after a few poor outings with the ball.

Arjun Tendulkar's numbers in domestic cricket

Arjun Tendulkar is originally from Mumbai but joined Goa before the 2022-23 season of Ranji Trophy. Since then, he has been an integral part of Goa's teams across formats and has played a key role for the state with both ball and bat.

Arjun can move the new ball both ways and is a useful overall cricketer. He has played 17 first-class matches so far and picked up 37 wickets at an average of 33.51 with 1 five-wicket haul to his name.

He has also made crucial contributions with the bat and scored 532 runs at an average of 23.13 with a best of 120. Tendulkar has played 18 List A games and 24 T20s as well. He has picked up 25 wickets in List A cricket and 27 wickets in T20 cricket.

Arjun Tendulkar in IPL 2025

Meanwhile, Arjun Tendulkar will be playing in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians. Arjun has been associated with Mumbai right from the start and was signed by the franchise for INR 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

He went unsold in the first round but MI bid for him in the last few minutes of the auction. Arjun has played five matches in the IPL so far and picked up 3 wickets at an average of 38 and an economy rate of 9.36.

He has been with Mumbai for a long time now but is yet to make regular appearances for the franchise. The youngster will hope that he gets some regular chances to stake his claim in the league. However, it seems difficult given the amount of competition in the IPL.
