India all-rounder Prema Rawat produced a sensational performance for Uttarakhand in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy on Monday, November 2. The 24-year-old delivered a remarkable display of power-hitting against Hyderabad at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Gahunje, Pune, helping her team post a commanding total.

Rawat remained unbeaten on 50 off just 14 deliveries, smashing three fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 357. Her explosive innings played a major role in Uttarakhand reaching 187/2 in their allotted 20 overs. She then contributed with the ball, claiming two wickets for 12 runs in her four overs as Hyderabad were restricted to 98/8, giving Uttarakhand an 89-run win.

Rawat’s unbeaten half-century saw her surpass Pakistan captain Fatima Sana’s record for the fastest fifty in women’s T20 cricket. Sana had reached the milestone in 15 balls against Zimbabwe in Karachi in May 2026. Before Rawat’s innings, the 15-ball record was jointly held by England’s Marie Kelly, New Zealand’s Laura Harris and Sana.

Kelly achieved the feat for Warwickshire against Gloucestershire in 2022, while Harris matched it for Otago against Canterbury in 2025. Rawat has now become the sole holder of the record, reaching her half-century one delivery quicker than the previous record holders.

Fatima Sana continues to hold the women’s T20I record

Although Rawat has moved ahead in the overall women’s T20 list, Sana remains the holder of the fastest half-century in women’s T20 Internationals. The Pakistan captain reached the landmark in 15 balls against Zimbabwe in Karachi on May 15, 2026.

New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield and India’s Richa Ghosh are next on the list, having scored their respective T20I half-centuries in 18 deliveries. Pakistan’s Nida Dar completes the top five with a 20-ball effort against South Africa in 2019.
