BackThe Proteas have gone more than two years without losing a Test series following their stunning comeback against Australia.
South Africa last suffered a series defeat in February 2024, when a weakened side lost 2-0 in New Zealand. Since then, they have won seven of their eight Test series, drawing the other.
The remarkable run began with victories over the West Indies (1-0), Bangladesh (2-0), Sri Lanka (2-0) and Pakistan (2-0), helping the Proteas reach the 2025 World Test Championship final, where they defeated Australia.

A 2-0 sweep of Zimbabwe followed before South Africa drew 1-1 in Pakistan. They then produced a historic 2-0 whitewash of India on Indian soil, their first Test series victory there since 2000.
Their latest triumph came against Australia, with Temba Bavuma’s men recovering from defeat in Durban to win the next two Tests in Gqeberha and Cape Town. The 2-1 series victory also lifted the Proteas to No 1 in the ICC Test rankings.
