India and West Indies are gearing up for a thrilling conclusion to their five-match T20I series at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With the contest level at 2-2, both teams will be desperate to deliver their best performance and secure the series trophy.

West Indies enter the decisive encounter with renewed confidence after producing a spectacular batting display in the fourth T20I, posting a massive 247/3. Captain Shai Hope led the charge with a magnificent unbeaten century, helping the visitors gain the upper hand. India fought back through contributions from Tilak Varma and their aggressive lower-order batters but ultimately suffered a 24-run defeat, making the final encounter even more significant.

Ahead of the crucial clash, India have strengthened their pace attack by bringing experienced fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar into the squad. He has been added as a replacement for Arshdeep Singh, who sustained an injury during the fourth T20I. Bhuvneshwar’s ability to generate movement with the new ball, maintain control during crucial phases, and execute variations at the death could prove valuable against West Indies’ formidable batting unit. The visitors possess several dangerous hitters, including Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford, while Hope’s excellent form makes him another major threat.

Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, India will look to their explosive opening combination of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson to provide a strong start. Their bowling attack also offers several options through spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi. West Indies, meanwhile, will draw confidence from Hope’s outstanding batting performances and Keemo Paul‘s impressive five-wicket haul in the previous match. Both sides have enough firepower to win the series, setting the stage for a fiercely contested finale.

M.Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is widely regarded as one of the most batter-friendly venues in Indian cricket. Its relatively flat surface, quick outfield and short boundaries often create ideal conditions for aggressive stroke play, making it difficult for bowlers to contain the scoring rate. Batters who settle in can take advantage of the conditions and find boundaries with regularity.

Fast bowlers are likely to face a demanding challenge, although those who use changes of pace, well-directed cutters and variations in length could find ways to restrict the opposition. Spinners will also need to rely on smart changes in flight, pace and trajectory to prevent batters from dominating the middle overs. With the ball generally coming nicely onto the bat, maintaining consistent pressure will be essential for both bowling attacks.

Considering the venue’s reputation for high-scoring matches, a first-innings total in the range of 170-190 runs could provide a competitive platform. However, neither team is likely to consider such a score entirely safe, given the explosive batting options available on both sides. Dew could become an important factor during the second innings, potentially making it difficult for bowlers to maintain a firm grip on the ball and execute their plans effectively. This could influence the toss decision, with the captain winning it likely to consider bowling first and chasing under the lights. With the series hanging in the balance, the team that adapts more effectively to the conditions could gain a decisive advantage in Bengaluru.
