What happened in the last India vs New Zealand Test series

India and New Zealand last faced each other in a Test series in October-November 2024, when the Kiwis produced a historic 3-0 clean sweep in India. It was India's first home Test series defeat since 2012 and New Zealand's first Test series win in India.

New Zealand won the opening Test in Bengaluru by eight wickets after India were bowled out for just 46 in their first innings. India fought back through a huge second-innings total of 462, but New Zealand chased down 107 comfortably.

The visitors then sealed the series in Pune with a 113-run victory. Mitchell Santner was the key performer, taking 13 wickets as New Zealand defended 359. India then suffered another defeat in Mumbai, losing the third Test by 25 runs. Ajaz Patel took 11 wickets in the match as New Zealand completed the first-ever 3-0 Test series whitewash of India at home.
